Happy Retirement to Dr Prashara’s Father

We would like to wish a very happy retirement to Dr Braham Kumar Prashara, who is the father of Dr Devna Prashara, one of our GP’s!

Dr B Prashara came to the UK in 1982 to complete his vocational training in General Practice, and went back to Kenya in 1985. He then returned to the UK and first worked in Greater Manchester where he struggled to find a practice. Eventually, he found Chapel Street Medical Centre in Stourbridge, West Midlands – This was in 1991. It was a small, single handed, traditional GP practice that Dr Prashara ran. Dr Prashara served his community proudly, and it was a true family practice.

Our very own Dr D Prashara joined her Father’s practice as a GP in 2012 and stayed there working together with him until December 2021. Dr D Prashara describes it as the best years of her career as a Doctor to date, and she says “Working alongside my wonderful Father has definitely made me the GP that I am today. I feel so proud and honoured to have been able to work with him so closely”.

Even though the Aughton Surgery team didn’t get the chance to work with Dr B Prashara directly, we all wish him the very best and hope he enjoys his retirement.
