New Practice Nurse

Yesterday, we welcomed our new Practice Nurse, Lynne to the practice. We are very happy that Lynne has joined the team, and we know that all of our patients will benefit from her extensive experience and clinical knowledge. Lynne will be working with us on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

She will be carrying out all aspects of the Practice Nurse role such as Child immunisations, Smears, Chronic Disease reviews and travel vaccinations. She will have appointments available from 8:30am – 6pm which can be booked via reception.

Practice Nurse Leaving

Unfortunately, our other Practice Nurse, Maggi, will be leaving the practice on 21st February. Maggi has taken up a new role with a Primary Care training hub in which she will lead a programme for Nurses who will be new to Primary Care. We know that Maggi will be perfectly suited to this role and will be at the forefront of training our Practice Nurses of the future.

We are extremely grateful for all that Maggi has done for the practice over the years that she has been part of the team, from introducing Video Group Clinics to even appearing on The One Show! Maggi will be sadly missed, but we wish her the best of luck in her new role.

Future Practice Nurse!

In other Nursing news, we are delighted to announce that one of our receptionists, Laura, has been accepted on to an Adult Nursing Degree course at Edge Hill University starting in September. Laura has been running phlebotomy clinics in the surgery for a while now, and this gave her the confidence and desire to apply for nursing.

Whilst we will be very sad to see Laura leave us in September to focus full time on her course and the placements that will come with it, she has already said that once she has qualified as a Nurse, she would like to go in to Practice Nursing. We are sure that if this is the case, we will be working with Laura again in the not too distant future.
