Private Work

We would like to advise all patients that there is currently an extended wait time for private work such as insurance reports and private letters to be completed. As a guide, private work is at present taking between 4 and 6 weeks to be done.

The reason for this is that private work is not urgent and is not a priority. We feel that it is more appropriate for our GP’s time to be used for patient appointments and NHS patient related work. Therefore, private work will be done as and when the clinicians have time.

We do use an approved third party company for some private work called MediData, and they are able to complete some reports on our behalf. Where possible, we will send private work to MediData so it reduces the amount outstanding for our GP’s, and also to try and get reports completed more quickly for patients.

If MediData are unable to complete a report, it will be sent back to the surgery for us to complete, at which point the 4-6 week timeframe will apply.
