Face Mask Requirement Reinstated

Due to rising COVID-19 cases, we have reintroduced the requirement to wear face masks when attending the surgery. This is to ensure the safety of both patients and staff. If you consider yourself to be exempt from wearing a face mask, you will be asked to wear a face shield. If you are unable to wear either a face mask or a face shield when attending for an appointment, you will be asked to wait outside (or in your car if you prefer) rather than in the waiting room, and the clinician will come and get you when they are ready.

We consider this necessary as we have recently had several members of clinical and administrative staff off after testing positive for COVID. The guidance for healthcare staff is still to isolate for a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 10 days. To return to work after day 5 and before day 10 staff need to have 2 consecutive days of negative lateral flow tests.

If you have recently tried to book an appointment and have found it difficult, we apologise for this, but we have had reduced availability because of the amount of staff isolating.

If you have any questions regarding the requirement to wear a face mask when attending the surgery, please contact reception by phone.
