Student Learning Disabilities Nurse
We are very lucky to have a student learning disabilities nurse with us on placement for the next 12 weeks. Jess will be working with the clinical and administrative teams on various projects, and will be helping us with annual health checks for our patients who have learning disabilities. Jess has written an introductory message below:
Hello, my name is Jess. I’m a third year student Learning Disability Nurse from Edge Hill University. I will be based at the practice until the end of April. While I’m here I’ll be working closely with Maggi (Practice Nurse) and the rest of the team to implement new and inclusive ways of providing accessible annual health checks to our patients with a learning disability. I’ll be looking at things like reasonable adjustments, communication preferences, and ways we can make our services more inclusive. I’ll also be working with Maggi on a Tuesday in her clinic, so I look forward to meeting some of you there!
