At the beginning of February, our Practice Nurse Maggi attended the final day of the NHS/Health Education England/Topol Conference in Birmingham.

In 2021, Maggi received a prestigious Topol Digital Fellowship to support her work in the development of Video Group Clinics (VGC’s). Designed to improve patient access to Primary Care during the pandemic and beyond, Maggi’s work with VGC’s has moved through early developmental stages in our practice, to be rolled out in surgeries across the UK.

Presenting to other Fellows at the conference, Maggi thanked staff at Aughton Surgery for their help, and highlighted the incredible support provided by patients who worked with her on this project.

Maggi said “The rollout of VGCs couldn’t have happened without the backing of the team at Aughton Surgery. The receptionists, clinicians, and the management team listened to my concept, and bought in to the potential value VGC’s could bring to patients. They all went to great efforts to turn my plans into reality.”

“I reserve my biggest thanks to those patients who trusted me to try something new, took part in trials, laughed when initial problems came to light, provided the most valuable feedback and always encouraged me to carry on. From the bottom of my heart, Thank-you.”
