Practice Nurse
Some of you may have been aware that we had recently appointed a new Practice Nurse who started with us at the beginning of August. She was new to General Practice, and was going to be doing a significant amount of training with appropriate mentorship to ensure she had the skillset to see our patients for all aspects of primary care nursing. Unfortunately, she recently decided that the Practice Nurse role wasn’t going to be for her, and decided to resign at short notice.
This is as disappointing for the practice staff as it is for our patients, and we understand that this will again cause difficulty when trying to book a Practice Nurse appointment with the surgery. We have already got an advert out for a new Practice Nurse, and we are hoping that this time we will get applicants with prior Practice Nursing experience.
We would ask for your co-operation with us whilst we go through the recruitment process again, which we are hoping will result in the appointment of a new Practice Nurse as soon as possible. The surgery is still able to book appointments with Extended Access for Practice Nurses, but please be aware that these appointments tend to go very quickly, and there won’t always be availability.
We can also refer to community pharmacies for blood pressure checks, if that is all that’s needed.
We would like to thank you in advance for your understanding, and further updates will follow as the recruitment process moves along.
