Flu/COVID Booster Vaccinations

We have recently started Phase 3 of the COVID Vaccination Programme, which will involve certain cohorts of patients receiving a booster dose of the vaccine. Patients who are eligible will be contacted in cohort order, similar to the order that people were contacted for their first dose.

Booster vaccines can only be given at a minimum of 6 months since the second dose of the primary COVID vaccination course.

This year, we are also able to offer the flu vaccine to eligible patients at the same time as the COVID booster. Vaccines will be given in different arms, and will hopefully avoid the need to come out twice for two separate vaccinations.

Patients can of course opt to have the vaccines separately if they would prefer, and can decline the booster and/or the flu vaccine if they do not want to have them.

We are running our vaccination sessions from Hants Lane Clinic in Ormskirk, and in the majority of cases we will be using the Pfizer vaccine (unless otherwise contraindicated).
